Vera J Hageman

Vera J. Hageman, age 101, died Monday, February 5, 2018 in Lincoln. She was born November 30, 1916 in Lexington, NE to Melvin and Ida (Koehn) Diefenbach. Vera graduated from Lexington High School as Class Valedictorian in 1935. She worked as Head Stenographer at Nebraska Natural Gas Company in Fremont until her marriage to Ray Hageman on February 20, 1949. Vera then settled into her new role as a farm wife. During her spare time she wrote poetry. Vera is survived by her daughter Linda Hageman; grandchildren Travis Pishna and Carrie (Jeff) Allgood; great-grandchildren Faith and Lexa, all of Lincoln; and sister Ruth (Virgil) Hatch of Alliance, NE. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray; son Richard; brother Paul Diefenbach; sisters Florence Ella Walker, Arlene Kolbo, and Emogene Andrews. Memorials are suggested to Ithaca United Methodist Church or Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Ithaca.
