V. Frank Ferrara

V. Frank Ferrara age 96 of Bellevue, NE passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the Heritage Ridge Assisted Living in Bellevue. Frank was born on June 28, 1922 to Frank C. and Ada Irene Naomi (LaBrune) Ferrara in Sioux City, IA. Frank was born in Sioux City, Ia. Frank moved with his parents to Omaha, NE and then to Wahoo, NE where his parents opened and operated The Wig Wam Café from 1930 to 1945. He attended grammar school in Wahoo and attended Wentworth Military Academy and Junior College in Lexington, MO earning his high school diploma and an Associates of Arts Degree. While attending Wentworth, Frank met Dorothy Denise Barrot and they were married on December 25, 1943 in Lexington. After graduating from Wentworth Military Academy, Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Hawaii Upon his discharge from the Army, he and Dorothy moved to Wahoo, where Frank worked for Saunders County as a surveyor. After the death of his mother in 1957, Frank joined his father in business at The LaGrande Hotel and operating the liquor store, later opening the Corner store. In 1977 Frank realized his lifelong dream of building a new liquor store on Highway 77 in Wahoo. Frank and Dorothy also managed the Hilltop Country Club in Wahoo. He retired in 1987 continuing to live in Wahoo, enjoying retirement, and playing golf. Frank and Dorothy moved to Omaha in 2011, where they reside in an assisted living community. Frank leaves to mourn his passing: three daughters: Virginia and John Young of Portland, OR; Cynthia Bronson of Plattsmouth, NE; Barbara and Bill Keith of Keller, TX; four grandchildren: Tyler Keith, Britney (Bronson) Fanelli, Drew Bronson, Ashlee Lide, granddaughter in law: Janalee Keith: nine great grandchildren: Ben Fanelli, Evan Fanelli, Bodie Bronson, Betsy Bronson, Brixton Bronson, Finley Lide, Milly Lide, Kaden Keith, and Jaxon Keith; nephew: Donald Barrot of Omaha, NE, and numerous cousins in north western Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Irene Ferrara, grandson: Jeff Keith, and son in law: Jim Bronson. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 A.M., on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Pruss Nabity Funeral Home in Wahoo, NE. His Final Resting Place will be at Wahoo Cemetery. The family suggests memorial to First Presbyterian Church in Wahoo, NE.
