Stephen Robert Yarmon of Wahoo passed away suddenly on April 1, 2019 at the age of 67 years. Steve was born December 31, 1951 to Robert (Bob) and Shirley (VanMetre) Yarmon in Wahoo, NE. He graduated from Wahoo High School in 1970 and enlisted in the US Air Force. When he left the Air Force, he went on to receive education to become an X-ray Lab Technician. He then furthered his education to specialize in Cardiac Catherization as a Technician. During his 30 years of employment in the healthcare field, he worked at several different hospitals across the US spanning from Seattle, Washington to Clearwater, Florida. During his youth Steve was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a member of Boy Scout Troop 140 where he earned the Eagle Scout Award. As a teenager, Steve worked with his dad on the weekends for Bob's Tree Service. During his high school years, he and six of his friends formed the band "The Mighty Quinn" where Steve played the keyboard. In the summer of 1988 Steve married Becke and gained two step daughters, Rachel and Renae. During his adulthood Steve enjoyed golfing, fishing and watching sports; he was a devote fan of the Nebraska Cornhusker and Seattle Seahawks football teams as well as the Kansas Jayhawks Basketball. Steve is survived by his mother Shirley VanMetre, sisters Jan (Ray) Malousek or rural Wahoo, and Nancy Tortora of Ridgefield, CT; nephews Jeff Malousek of Wahoo, Peter Tortora (Chicago, IL) and Owen Tortora (Madison, WI), originally of Ridgefield, CT and niece Kristy (Loren) Fortik of Wahoo as well as several cousins. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Robert (Bob) Yarmon, brother-in-law Michael Tortora and nephew Matthew Robert Tortora, aunts and uncles Ethel Dedering, Kenneth Yarmon, LeRoy (Jake) Yarmon, and Leona (Yarmon) Caspers. Memorials may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church, Wahoo. God Will Take Care of You Private Services will be held by Steve's Family.
