Sharon Jean Vermeline

Sharon Jean Vermeline, age 87 of Malmo, died Friday January 14, 2022 in Wahoo. She was born January 8, 1935 in Wahoo to Jack and Frances (Hills) Banghart. Sharon was baptized and confirmed at Bethesda Covenant Church in Malmo where she later married Darwin L. Vermeline on June 29, 1952. In addition to caring for her four daughters, as well helping with farm duties, Sharon worked for years in healthcare. She was a long time member of the Saunders County Election Board. She was also active at Edensburg Lutheran Church and the Malmo American Legion Auxiliary. Sharon is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Cynthia and Gene Karstens of Prague, Denise and Cal Allen of Garland, NE, Kristie and Bob Lynch of Byron, IL, Lisa and Butch Vasa of Camdenton, MO; sister Adele Jackson of Wahoo; sister-in-law Marian Vermeline of Malmo; 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin. A funeral service reserved for family and church family will be held at 10 am Saturday at Edensburg Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Edensburg Lutheran Cemetery. An open visitation is scheduled from 4-7 pm Friday at Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Edensburg Lutheran Cemetery, Malmo American Legion Auxiliary, Malmo Volunteer Fire Department, or Prague Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
