Roger DeWayne Fisher was born on November 25, 1934 to Mary (Krause) and Robert Fisher in Fairbury, Ne. He peacefully passed away on February 13, 2026 in Lincoln, Ne.

After high school graduation, he attended pre-engineering at Fairbury Junior College. He then enlisted in the Army & served at Fort Sill, OK. until 1959. He married Lois Huffman in July 1957. To this union three daughter's were born; Linda, Carrie & Mary Jane.

Roger was honorably discharged from the Army & moved to Wahoo, Ne. to raise his family. He began working at Johnson, Erickson as a professional surveyor & engineer until retirement at 62.

He married Barb Aken on November 17, 1990. Roger was very hardworking & truly enjoyed life to the fullest. He was always friendly & didn't know a stranger. Many will remember him as the Texaco gas attendant/mechanic, playing Santa every Christmas in the community, & being the distributor for the Omaha World Herald newspaper for many years. He built decks, repaired cars & did home repairs. He was an all-around "handyman." In retirement he enjoyed family which included step-children Don Aken, Jr, Laurie Hanson, & Bruce (Ronda) Aken.

Roger loves NASCAR, all sports (especially Husker), socializing, telling stories and history. In recent years he enjoyed coffee and lunch at Mocha C's where he had many, many friends and family. He leaves behind his beloved dog and companion, Bandit.

Survivors include wife Barb Fisher of Wahoo; daughters Linda Fisher of Lincoln, Carrie Fisher and Mary Jane Fisher of Wahoo; step-children Don Aken Jr. of Weston, Laurie Hanson of Lincoln, and Bruce (Ronda) Aken of Omaha; sister Karen Neemann of Fairbury; sister-in-law Carolyn Fisher of Omaha; brothers-in-law Jeff (LaWannna) Andersen, Cole (Lynne) Andersen; many nieces, nephews, & step-grandchildren & great grandchildren; special friends Ron & Kay Blincow, Justin Blincow, and Billy Wondra.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Lois; brothers Francis, and Ronald (Sharon) Fisher; sisters Delores (Lewis) Clegg, Joan (Melvin) Peters; and brothers-in-law Leroy "Pete" Neemann, Dave (Betty) Andersen; step son-in-law, Rick Hanson.

Funeral services will be at 11 am, Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Sunrise Cemetery.
