With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Robbie Druery, age 57, of Wahoo, Nebraska, on Monday, December 9, 2024. Born on September 17, 1967, in Warren, Michigan, Robbie was embraced by the warm and supportive community of Wahoo, where he truly thrived.
Robbie began his education in the SCORE program at First Presbyterian Church at the age of 3. Under the loving guidance of Marylou Horsham, SCORE students transitioned to Wahoo Public Schools in 1975, where Robbie flourished, surrounded by encouragement and friendship. He graduated in 1988.
After graduating, Robbie started working at the Region 5 (Apace) workshop, where his positivity and playful spirit radiated, delighting everyone around him. He loved his job, especially working at Wahoo Concrete, where he would be treated to Mocha C's every Wednesday with his mom.
Robbie found immense joy in running track during the Special Olympics, and his passion for bowling brought him countless happy moments. He loved to travel and had the opportunity to visit numerous destinations with his family and the ARC of Lincoln. Robbie also enjoyed watching classic television shows, particularly “The Waltons,” “Dallas,” and “The Golden Girls.” Robbie also had a deep bond with his family, particularly his Grandma Beaman.
He was known for his collection of T-shirts, which reflected his friendly nature, making him a beloved presence wherever he went. Robbie eagerly looked forward to his physical therapy sessions, always brightened by the care and attention he received from the dedicated staff.
Robbie leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold him in their hearts, including his mother, Susan Beaman; brothers Chuck (Kari) Lacey Jr. and Justin Lacey; aunts Sandi (Tom) Massie and Sherri (Jeff) Adair; great-aunt Janice Bazar; and a host of nieces and nephews: Brendan Lacey (Maddie), Blake Lacey, Ella Lacey, Logan Lacey, and Emma Lacey. He was also a great-uncle to Winnie Lacey. Robbie has reunited in peace with his beloved grandparents, Robert and Lorraine Beaman, as well as cousins Mark Massie, Heather Mixan, and Addie Mixan.
Join us in honoring Robbie’s memory during visitation on Thursday, December 12th, from 5 to 7 PM at the Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home. His funeral service will be a celebration of his life on Friday, December 13th at 10:30 AM at First Presbyterian Church, followed by interment at Sunrise Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making memorial contributions to His Kids Camp or The ARC of Lincoln, which were both cherished by Robbie.
His genuine spirit and warm-hearted nature will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know and love him.
