Rhonda Kay Edstrom (née Hass), age 69, of Peoria, AZ, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family after spending her final days doing what she treasured most: making memories with the people she loved. Rhonda was born on June 4, 1957, in Fremont, Nebraska, to Don and Elaine Hass. She spent her childhood in Ithaca, Nebraska, before moving to Wahoo at the age of 14, where she graduated from Wahoo High School with the Class of 1975. On January 28, 1978, she married the love of her life, Dennis Edstrom. Together they built a marriage of nearly five decades centered on faith, laughter and family. They welcomed two children, Jason and Stephanie, who remain their pride and joy.
She found beauty in life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading a good book, golfing with friends and family, watching the College World Series, and attending the sporting events of her grandsons. She had a gift for making a house feel like a home through warm colors, family photographs, homemade meals, and countless memories created within its walls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Elaine Hass; her sister, Pam; and her beloved grandson, Beckham, whom she carried in her heart always. She is lovingly survived by her husband, Dennis Edstrom; her son, Jason (Katie Hatfield-Edstrom); her daughter, Stephanie (Josh) Peterson; her cherished grandsons, Andrew, Sawyer, Connor, and Rory; her siblings, Vicky, Terry, Doug, and Karen; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A celebration of Rhonda’s life will be held Friday, July 31, 2026 at Methodist Church of Ithaca at 11:00 a.m. with a lunch to follow. The family is grateful for the love, prayers, and support they have received during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to the Methodist Church of Ithaca.
