Randall J. Holtorf, age 72, of Malmo, Nebraska, passed away on June 18, 2025, in Lincoln. He was born on April 30, 1953, in Wahoo, Nebraska, to Dale and Shirley (Andersen) Holtorf.
Following high school, Randall worked at Lincoln Carpet Mills and later contributed to bridge construction projects throughout Saunders County. He spent more than thirty years working for Bullock Brothers Concrete, where he became a well-known and respected figure in the local construction industry.
Randall was affectionately known by many as the “Pumpkin Man” of Malmo. He cultivated an impressive pumpkin patch and was especially proud of growing pumpkins weighing over 100 pounds, which he intricately carved and displayed each Halloween. Later in life, he turned his passion toward raising monarch butterflies. Randall meticulously grew plants to support every stage of their life cycle and lovingly gifted chrysalises to friends and their children, sharing the wonder of transformation and nature.
A lifetime member of Edensburg Lutheran Church in Malmo, Randall took joy in gardening and was especially fond of his Boston Terriers.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Holtorf of Malmo; brothers Roger (Jane) Holtorf of Alexandria, Virginia, and Scott (Jodi) Holtorf of Logan, Iowa; sisters LeAnne (Thomas) Adams of Etters, Pennsylvania, and LaVonne (Earl) Klinefelter of Mt. Vernon, Washington; mother-in-law Edith Hall of Omaha; sisters-in-law Deb (Mark) Huston of Lewisville, Nebraska, and Brenda (Derek) Wilkinson of Omaha; brother-in-law Duane Hall Jr. of Auburn, Nebraska; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Randall was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Shirley; brother Russell Holtorf; and sister-in-law Peggy Holtorf.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 25 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place Thursday, June 26 at 11:00 AM at Edensburg Lutheran Church in Malmo, with interment to follow at Union Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designations.
