Jonathan 'Papa Jon' Rezek, age 66, of Wahoo, died April 18, 2019, from boredom as a result of his wife never letting him get a word in edgewise. Or maybe not. We all know he liked to crack a joke. He's still laughing at that one. Jon enjoyed feeling the breeze of the open road while on his Harley, being a Scout Master and teaching the young, spending time with his amazing family, his lifelong friends, and all his Bony Finger brothers. He loved every minute he could be outdoors whether tending his garden or working on his 'Honey Do List'. As a result of his green thumb gardening skills, he became an expert canner (especially of tomatoes). Jon was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Jon spent the last three years of his life converting part of the barn on their farm into a bar; affectionately known as the BARn. It was an incredible space where Jon proudly welcomed anyone at any time. He never lost his love or passion for anything with a motor, especially his collection of Harleys. Those who knew Jon best will always remember his genuine, hearty laugh. Jon is survived by his loving wife, Sam; his sons Tad (Paula) Rezek and Tony (Stacy) Rezek; step-children Michelle (Jason) Libal, Troy Syverson, Lacey Tomhave; nine grandchildren; sister Beth (Scott) Versaw; brother Scott (Terri) Rezek; nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs Finn and Lip. A memorial service will be held from 5pm-7pm Tuesday, April 23, at Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home in Wahoo; celebration of life to follow at RK's Bar and Grill in Malmo. Day is done, gone the sun, from the lake, from the hills, from the sky. All is well. Safely rest. God is nigh.-"Taps"
