Norma Doris Veskerna

Norma “Doris” Veskerna, age 92 of Wahoo, formerly of Mead, died Saturday, December 3, 2022 in Wahoo. She was born December 7, 1929 in Millard to William and Catherine (Glissman) Veskerna. She attended and graduated from Millard Public Schools. Following graduation, Doris enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951, rose to the rank of Staff Sargeant, and was honorably discharge in 1959. Afterward, she returned to Mead to work on the farm. She later worked at a print shop in Wahoo. Doris remained on the family farm until two years ago when she moved to Saunders Medical Center – Long Term Care. Throughout her life, Doris was an avid bowler. She enjoyed gardening, and made many memorable trips to the casinos in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her sister Jeanette Knowles of Wahoo and many cousins and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents and brothers Willard and Earl.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 12 at Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home. Visitation will be 3-5 pm Sunday. Memorials may be made to the family for later designation.
