Melissa Geiger-Williamson was born May 9, 1975 in Kearney, Nebraska to Robert and Judith (Jeffries) Geiger. She grew up in Kearney where her father was the weather man for the local ABC affiliate television station. Melissa graduated from Kearney High School and attended Scott Community College in Iowa and Central Community College in Kearney. She ended her studies to care for her father after he was involved in a serious car accident. Melissa's family was the most important aspect of her life. She cherished the time she spent with family and friends. On February 10, 2001 Melissa married Bruce Williamson. Melissa worked as a Paralegal in Florida and in Fremont and did data entry for Swine Management. She was an avid reader of history, astronomy and Egyptology, and spent countless hours researching family history. She was known for the detailed portraits that she created in pastels and occasionally in coal. Arts and crafts of all kinds occupied much of Melissa's spare time. She was an animal lover, especially dogs, and had a "lead foot" so she could enjoy the feel of the wind in her hair, particularly on her motorcycle. She often baked meticulously decorated cakes for her family, and for events which included weddings. She is survived by her husband Bruce Williamson of Fremont; son Derek Williamson of Fremont; brother Jordan (Allison) Geiger of Omaha; Allison's parents Mikeline (Kim) Windle of Omaha; mother-in-law Cyndi (Mark) McCoun of Republican City; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; aunts, uncles and cousins; and her faithful dog Chester.
