Marjorie L. Meyer passed away on December 5, 2024 at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo. She had celebrated her 100th birthday several months earlier.
Marge was born July 6th, 1924 in Genoa, NE to Brian and Lillian (Hawthorne) Travers. She attended country schools and graduated from Fullerton High School in 1941. She moved to Omaha and worked for an insurance company for 4 years. Marge married Harlow Meyer from Carroll, NE in 1946, after he returned from WWII. They lived in Omaha until 1958 when they moved by Ithaca, where their three children were raised. Harlow and Marge moved to Wahoo in 2000.
Marjorie loved her garden and flowers. Many memories were made celebrating holidays and family events on the farm. Marge loved going on bus trips with friends. She traveled to Hawaii and Alaska in her 80’s. She enjoyed playing cards and was able to continue, even after her move to assisted living.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Ted Travers; grandson, Bruce Meyer, and niece, Valerie Travers.
Marge is survived by her 3 children: sons Steve (Bonnie) Meyer and Larry Meyer: daughter Diane (Keith) Maly; 5 grandchildren: Corby Meyer, Elicia (Jason) Johnson, Missy (Clint) Kirby, Brett (Tracey) Maly, and Craig Maly; 2 step-grandchildren: Sara (Kenny) Wickey, and Toby Wibbels; 9 great-grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren, and 3 step-great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
