Marjorie Ruth Cass

Marjorie R. Cass, age 94, died Tuesday, April 9, 2024 in Omaha. She was born March 3, 1930 in Burwell, Nebraska to Charley and Emma (Pokorny) Kremer. Marjorie was the second of six children and grew up on a ranch 32 miles northeast of Burwell where she attended country school and Burwell High School. She then worked as a switchboard telephone operator until 1950 when she married Glenn Laverne Cass on November 4th of that year. They became parents of three sons and two daughters. Because of Glenn’s work as a meat manager at Safeway and Council Oak Food, the family moved frequently and took residence in 20 homes in 12 different towns. The family ultimately settled in Cozad where Glenn retired in 1993. Being close to family prompted Marjorie and Glenn to move to Fremont in October of 1994.

Despite the frequent moves, Marjorie enjoyed being a homemaker for her family. She often found work cleaning houses and churches and was active in her church. Water sports were always a family activity and included jet skiing and boating. Dancing was another of her favorite activities and she appreciated many types of music.

Marjorie is survived by her children Theresa Osentowski of Elkhorn, Rick (Donna) Cass of Fremont, Monica (Lee) Becker of Wahoo, Tim (Lisa) Cass of Hastings; grandchildren Levi Cass, Randy Osentowski, Troy Rodgers, Sam Cass, Stacy Cass, Sophie Cass, Addison Cass, Amy Rodgers, Ian Cass, Shelly Eggen, Jody Kroger, Christina Haller; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter.
