Donald Jirovsky Marilyn Jirovsky Donald James Jirovsky, age 83, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 in Waco, Texas. Don was born April 29, 1939 to Lloyd and Sylvia (Jirik) Jirovsky in Wahoo. Don graduated from Cedar Bluffs High School in 1956 and married Marilyn Shane on April 20, 1963. He and Marilyn were married for 58 years and they had five children. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and grandson Ty Kander. Don is survived by his children Mike (Julie) Jirovsky of Ninety-Six, SC, Steve Jirovsky of Waco, TX, Sherry Jirovsky (Mickey Tumlin) of Martinsburg, WV, Chris Jirovsky of Dallas, TX, Anne (Chad) Hall of Malmo; brothers Ken (Sharon) Jirovsky of Lincoln, Dan (Marilyn) Jirovsky of Fremont; brother-in-law Willis (Lana) Shane of Ottawa, IL; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and many beloved grandpets. Marilyn Ruth Jirovsky was born July 15, 1944 to Charles and Marjorie Jean Shane in Fairbury, NE. She graduated from Wahoo High school in 1960. In August of 1979, Don and Marilyn packed up everything, including their five kids and moved to Garland, TX. Marilyn worked for Texas Instruments and Raytheon until she retired. Marilyn received a kidney transplant in 1994 after a long battle with kidney failure. Marilyn loved to sew, read and watch old movies. She really loved to travel and explore new places and she was always up for a girl’s trip with her daughters. Marilyn passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 in Garland, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her children Mike (Julie) Jirovsky of Ninety-Six, SC, Steve Jirovsky of Waco, TX, Sherry Jirovsky (Mickey Tumlin) of Martinsburg, WV, Chris Jirovsky of Dallas, TX, Anne (Chad) Hall of Malmo; brother Willis (Lana) Shane of Ottawa, IL; brothers-in-law Ken (Sharon) Jirovsky of Lincoln, Daniel (Marilyn) Jirovsky of Fremont; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Donald and Marilyn will be held at 11 am Saturday, September 3, at Sunrise Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at Malmo Community Center. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation in Marilyn’s name, or to the family.
