Marcie Urban

Marcie Urban, age 90 of Wahoo, died Friday, December 8, 2023 in Wahoo. She was born June 2, 1933 at Weston to Fred and Mary (Rezac) Maly. On May 20, 1952 Marcie married Frank Urban at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo. Marcie worked for many years meticulously cleaning homes in the Wahoo area and local businesses such as Wahoo Clinic and she and Frank enjoyed working together at Starlight Ballroom and camping together in their favorite spot in Yankton, South Dakota.

Marcie was a prolific collector of salt and pepper shakers from all holiday seasons, special events, locations and other memories she created throughout her life. Keno was also a passion of Marcie’s who consistently used her favorite numbers 6, 2, 33, and 80. After moving to South Haven five years ago, there being no Keno to attend, Marcie became a regular at the bingo table.

She is survived by her children Karen (Mike) Aerni, of Fremont, Steve (Cathy) Urban, of Lincoln, Troy Urban (Kathy Byers), of Omaha; daughter-in-law Kathy Urban, of Wahoo; grandchildren Todd (Lakeysha) Aerni, Kelly (Andy) Goergen, Ryan (Jill) Aerni, Neil (Christy) Urban, Kyle (Maegan) Urban, Makayla (Marcus) Harlow, Sara Urban, and Jacob Urban; great-grandchildren Alivia and Nolan Aerni, Parker and Watson Aerni, Ethan, Trevor and Phoebe Urban, and Madeline Goergen, Edison, Duke and Joey Harlow, Colton Urban, and one due in April; sister-in-law Rose (Bob) Iiams, Ithaca.

Marcie was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Mary (Rezac) Maly; husband Frank Urban; son Rod Urban; brothers John, George, Freddie, Dan, and Adrian Maly; sisters Gerry Mathis, Mary Lou Mass.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am Wednesday, December 13, St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo. Visitation 5-7 pm Tuesday at funeral home. Interment St. Francis Cemetery, Wahoo. Memorials to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.
