Loretta A. Koresky, age 78 of Malmo, died Thursday, February 21, 2013 in Wahoo. She was born October 6, 1934 at Wahoo to Frank and Marion (Shanahan) Vaca. Loretta grew up in Malmo and attended school there until the twelfth grade. She graduated from Wahoo High School and married Leland Koresky in Lincoln on August 20, 1955. Loretta worked in the Saunders County Sherriff's Department for 34 years. She was dedicated to her family and worked hard to make Christmas a uniquely special occasion for her grandchildren. Widely known by the nickname "Gunga"� "� a moniker originally assigned to her by her young grandchildren, Loretta spent many happy times camping with her family and country swing dancing with her husband. She was preceded in death by her parents, and son Rusty Lee. Loretta is survived by her husband Lee of Malmo; daughters Cindy Brennenstuhl of Weston and Rhonda Andersen of Waterloo; grandchildren LeeAnna Brennenstuhl of Lincoln, Wyatt Andersen, Chance Andersen and Zane Andersen, all of Ashland; sisters Judy (Daryl) Swanson of Malmo and Nancy (Clarence) Egr of Prague; and son-in-law Gene Andersen of Ashland. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, February 27 at Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home. Honorary casket bearers will be LeeAnna Brennenstuhl, Wyatt Andersen, Chance Andersen, Zane Andersen, Gene Andersen, Wes Cunningham and Michelle Cunningham. Inurnment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family for a later designation.
