Leslie G. DeBoer, age 67 of Weston, died at his home on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. He was born in Lincoln, NE on July 3, 1946 to Delbert and Shirley (Gross) DeBoer. Leslie grew up in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln High School. He received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 1969. He went on to earn a Master of Science Degree in Agronomy/Agricultural Economics in 1985 from Northwest Missouri State University and spent his life helping people help the land as a Soil Conservationist with the Soil Conservation Service. On November 21, 2009, he married Deborah Brickley Davis at the Faith Bible Church in Lincoln. Together, they moved to Weston in the Spring of 2010. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Leslie served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and retired from the US Naval Reserves with the rank of Lieutenant. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. Les was a loyal member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Wahoo and was a man who lived his faith. He supported many Christian ministries throughout his life. He planted many seeds. He is survived by wife Debby of Weston; children David DeBoer (Kelly Younker-DeBoer) of Cortland NE, Deb (Brian) Cada of Lincoln; step-children Glenn Davis and Daniel Davis, both Omaha; grandchildren Mason DeBoer, Marshall DeBoer, Jarod Cada; brothers Steve (Sylvia) DeBoer of Hastings, Louis DeBoer of Lincoln, Ron (Jennifer) DeBoer of Lincoln; nieces and nephews. Les was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Shirley DeBoer, and brother Warren DeBoer. Memorials may be given to the family for a later designation.
