Kenneth A. Carlson, age 99 of Wahoo, died Wednesday, October 13, 2021 in Wahoo. He was born February 27, 1922 in Swedeburg to C. Edgar and Minnie (Anderson) Carlson. Ken was baptized and confirmed at Swedeburg Covenant Church where he remained a member his entire life. He attended District 48 through the 8th grade and graduated from Ceresco High School with the class of 1940. A farmer since the age of 15, Ken lived his entire life in Saunders County. On November 17, 1962, Kenneth married Marian Ann Anderson. He proved himself to be a devoted husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa. Ken enjoyed attending family activities and as many sporting and school events as possible. Spoiling his kids, grandkids, and great-grandson gave him special pleasure. In addition to farming, Kenneth worked many years as a Mail Carrier for the Post Office in Wahoo. He was an avid reader of books about the American West. This sparked his interest in attending auctions and collecting historical items. He enjoyed traveling and taking photos. His interest in history extended into genealogical research. Ken spent countless hours researching family history and corresponding with the family members he met. He earned recognition as the “unofficial historian” of Swedeburg.
