Kay J. Sagert, age 90 of Wahoo, passed away on Monday, April 14th, 2025 in Omaha. She was a beloved mother, wife, grandma and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Kay was born on November 24th, 1934 in Holdrege, Nebraska to Larry and Ann (Pouk) Johnson, where she attended Holdrege High School and was a majorette in the marching band. Growing up, Kay had a beloved pet goose named Ozzie. From her first marriage to Earl Kincheloe, she was blessed with 4 children. Kay later moved to Wahoo, Nebraska where she married Clarence “Spec” Sagert. Kay worked at Phelps County Creamery and the Haven House. After her retirement, she enjoyed waitressing at the Stockyard Café. She was known for her hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.
Kay enjoyed reading, playing bingo, watching game shows, Price is Right and Jeopardy being her favorite, doing crossword puzzles and playing pickle cards. Kay was a die-hard Husker football fan and would watch games while enjoying a Busch Light with a glass of ice. She loved to share treats with everyone at the West View Apartments. Kay was an active member of the F.O.E (Eagles) in Wahoo.
Kay is survived by her children, Sandra (Bob) Nicklasson of Pleasanton, Nebraska, Ronald (Lawrie) Kincheloe of Las Vegas, Nevada, Judy (David) Simonini of Wahoo, Nebraska, Shelley Kincheloe and fiancé Tye Duckworth of Wahoo, Nebraska, brother Gary (June) Johnson of Holdrege, Nebraska, grandchildren, Jennifer (Komlan) Balsano-Sogbadji, Michelle (Bernie) Baney, Christina (James) Holliday, William (Katie) Kincheloe, Richard Trykowski, Elizabeth (Kyle) Duell, Andrea (Lucas) Lingelbach, Nicole Wallingford, Courtney (Taylor) Burns, Christopher (Britney) Sheldon, 22 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Ann, husband Clarence “Spec”, grandson Kyle and 4 great grandchildren. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
