Judith “Judy” K. Gray, 77, of Weston, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
Judy was born on December 18, 1947, in Dunlap, Iowa, to Robert and Evelyn (Timm) Schlensig. She grew up in Dunlap, where she graduated from high school and built many lifelong friendships.
Judy married the love of her life, Thomas “Tom” Gray on July 8, 1967, and together they shared a life full of adventure. Because of Tom’s military service, the two lived in several states early in their marriage before eventually living in Lincoln, then Colon, and finally settling at their family farm near Weston with their children and grandchildren.
A talented and hardworking woman, Judy worked as an accountant for companies including Proctor and Gamble, Temple Israel, Gallo Winery, and finally starting and co-owning Reliable Services in Wahoo. She had an incredible eye for detail and a strong sense of dedication in everything she did.
Outside of work, Judy’s heart was happiest when she was surrounded by animals, especially her baby goats. She loved quilting, sewing, and gardening, and could often be found birdwatching or adding to her beautiful collections of antiques and Christian crosses—which decorated the walls of her home as a reflection of her faith and creativity.
More than anything, Judy loved being “Grandma.” Her six grandchildren brought her endless joy, and she never missed an opportunity to cheer them on, share a laugh, or give a warm hug.
Judy is survived by her husband Tom; daughters and sons-in-law Chrissy and David Waido, and Nicki and Kevin Bordovsky; sister Janelle Melby; and her beloved grandchildren Thomas, Andrew, and Audrey Waido, and Kole, Jake, and Eva Bordovsky.
Visitation will be held from 4–6 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, at Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 3, at Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home.
