Joan Clara Treptow

Joan Clara Treptow, age 69 of Ithaca, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in Lincoln. She was born November 28, 1946 in Fremont to Werner and Clara (Hageman) Treptow. She earned Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education from Wesleyan University and taught 2nd Grade at Ashland/Greenwood for more than 30 years. Joan was a longtime member of Ithaca United Methodist Church where she was active with the annual Church Bazaar, and ensured that the church was always beautifully decorated with flowers. She held a lifetime commitment to her church, neighbors and the Ithaca community. She is survived by sister Janet Friesen, Lincoln; niece Shellie (Steve) Cockson, Lincoln; great-nieces Murphy, Emerson and Finley; aunts Vera Hageman, Lincoln, Doris Treptow, Wahoo; many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials to the Church, or to the scholarship fund being established for education students at Wesleyan University. Rev. Brian Kottas will officiate. Casket Bearers will be Marvin Hass, Josh Girmus, Glen Treptow, Mark Treptow, Don Treptow, Ron Treptow, Doug Hass, and Steve Cockson.
