Jaquelyn Rose Perkins

Jaquelyn Rose Perkins, 24, of Lincoln, passed away Labor Day weekend.

Jaquie was born January 21, 2002, in Lincoln to Dustin and Heather (Snelling) Perkins. She spent her early childhood in Ithaca, where she was able to enjoy the outdoors and give free rein to the energetic and daring spirit that was so much a part of who she was. She later moved with her family to Wahoo and graduated from Wahoo High School in 2020.

After graduation, Jaquelyn moved to Lincoln and began working in food service. She had a passion for working as a barista which she did while living with her sister, Leilani, in Rapid City, South Dakota, and continued that work after eventually returning to Lincoln.

Jaquie was ambitious, loving, artistic, and always quick to put others before herself. She made friends easily and had a gift for making people laugh with her jokes. Her creativity showed in the doodles she drew and in the music she played on the piano and the ukelele. She also enjoyed playing chess with her brother, Donny, and became a better player through their time together.

Jaquie brought energy, humor, and a caring heart into the lives of the people around her. At only 24, her life was far too short, but the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the memories she created will remain with those who knew her.

She is survived by her father, Dustin Perkins of Des Moines, Iowa; mother, Heather Perkins of Norfolk, Nebraska; brother, Donovan Perkins of Wahoo; sister, Leilani Ritchie of Rapid City, South Dakota; nephew, Danny Ritchie; grandmothers, Elvira Green of Indiana, Kathleen Flanagan of Ithaca, and Arlinda Snelling of Wahoo; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers John Green and Allan Snelling.

Services will be at 5:30 pm Friday, September 25, 2026 at First Presbyterian Church in Wahoo. There will be a reception following the service. Memorials may be given to the family for a later designation.
