Janet E. Mcdonell

Janet E McDonell, age 78 of Ashland, died Monday, September 1, 2014 at her home She was born February 23, 1936 at Goodman, Missouri to Luther and Irene (Coon) Harris. On June 20, 1991, Janet married Patrick McDonell in Lincoln, Nebraska. Janet enjoyed a career in hotel management, but was passionate about her three and one half decade hobby of breeding and racing thoroughbred horses in Nebraska. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her sister Loretta Mokrid. She is survived by her husband, Patrick McDonell of Ashland; children Shelley (Steve) Pfeiffer of Waterloo, James (Tosha) McDonell of Lincoln, and Kim (Joe) Cohn of Ashland; grandchildren Cassie Sanders, Zach Bales, Jacob Petersen, Chyann Pfeiffer, and Landon McDonell; great-grandchildren Cody, Carley and Hailey; niece Michelle McChristensen; great-nieces and great-nephews Shaun, Bodie, Chaney and Trini. Memorial services for Janet will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family for a later designation.
