Darlene Jordan, age 92 of Wahoo, died Sunday, January 31, 2021 in Wahoo. She was born August 3, 1928 in Ithaca to Winfred and Josephine (Meyers) Lee. On April 3, 1947 Darlene married Harold “Hermie” Jordan in Papillion, NE. God, family, and her church were the most important aspects of Darlene’s life. She was very proud of her grandchildren. Darlene is remembered for the 29 years she spent working as the Secretary to the Principal at Wahoo High School. She also found great pleasure playing and teaching music. She was a self-taught guitar player and taught lessons at Dietze Music in Lincoln after she ended the day at her full-time job. Darlene also played the piano at church as well as for her own relaxation and pleasure. Her artistic side came through in many of the activities she enjoyed. She taught herself to quilt and sew and was an original member of the Crazy Quilters group at her church. Darlene also taught herself to knit and crochet. The first project she took on was to crochet Barbie clothes and tiny Barbie accessories for her daughters. Crafts of all kinds and ceramics were also one of Darlene’s cherished past-times. She taught a ceramics class, and crafted all her own seasonal arrangements for her home. Darlene always found plenty of time to spend in the kitchen. She was an excellent cook and baker. Darlene was also very active outside the home. She bowled on a travel league for many years and was always eager for a road trip to someplace she had not been before. Summers spent at the lake were one of the highlights of each year. She is survived by daughters Linda Jordan, Wahoo, Shelley (Charman) Harrington, Ceresco, Jackie Anderson, Wahoo; son Terry (Marilyn) Jordan, Lenexa, KS; grandchildren Todd Jordan, Jenny Jordan, Zachary (Nicole) Anderson, Grant (Shawna) Anderson, Alyssa Harrington; great-grandchildren Braelyn Anderson, Mason Anderson, Addison Anderson. Darlene was preceded in death by husband Harold “Hermie” Jordan; sisters Jean Stange, Elaine Ewerth. Funeral service will be at 10 am Thursday, First United Methodist Church, Wahoo. Family only.
