Gloria K. Wagner, age 88 of Ithaca, died Saturday, November 21, 2015 in Lincoln. She was born September 11, 1927 in Genoa, NE to Roy and Elsie (Jurgenson) Gustafson. At a young age, Gloria moved with her family from Genoa to Wann, Nebraska where she spent most of her childhood. The years spent living in Wann always held many fond childhood memories for Gloria. When Gloria was a Freshman in high school, her family moved to Ithaca where Gloria attended school for two years. She spent her final two years of school at Wahoo High School. Two years later, on January 15, 1947, Gloria married the love of her life, Robert Wagner, in Ceresco, NE. Gloria and Bob made their life together in Ithaca where Gloria served in a wide variety of activities at the Ithaca United Methodist Church. Many of these activities centered around her involvement in the United Methodist Women. Gloria worked 14 years at Gene's Market in Ithaca, then worked 23 years as a housekeeper at Saunders County Care Center in Wahoo. Anyone who knew Gloria would agree that she was a caring and kind, friendly woman. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. After her retirement, Gloria's time was spent focusing on her cherished family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 68 years Robert Wagner of Ithaca; son James (Jeanette) Wagner of York; grandsons Scott (Leslie) Wagner of Holdrege, Brent (Amy) Wagner, Lincoln; great-grandchildren Cosette and Clifford; brother Harlan Gustafson of Omaha. Gloria was preceded in death by an infant daughter Jane; her parents; a sister Betty Becker; and a brother Virgil Gustafson. Of note is that Gloria died on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, her sister Betty also died on the Saturday before Thanksgiving 44 years ago, and her brother Virgil would have celebrated his birthday this year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Memorial are suggested to the Ithaca United Methodist Church. Casket Bearers will be Scott Wagner, Brent Wagner, Marlin Keller, Larry Lamprecht, Doug Hass and Jerome Moline.
