Gayle M. Schwenck

Gayle M. Schwenck, age 77 of Wahoo, died Monday, May 2, 2022 in Wahoo. He was born November 25, 1944 in Milford, NE and adopted by Martin and Bernice (Otto) Schwenck. Gayle grew up in Wahoo and finished Wahoo High School with the class of 1964. Following graduation, he began working for the Blue Star Onion Factory in Wahoo until it closed. Gayle ran a morning paper delivery route for 18 years and prided himself in the meticulous manner in which he made his deliveries in his John Deere Gator. Besides being a John Deere fan, Gayle held a remarkable knowledge of baseball – especially his favorite team, the New York Yankees. He enjoyed his coin collection and regularly attended meetings of the Wahoo Coin Club. He is survived by his mother Bernice Wiese of Wahoo; sisters Donna Johnson of Lincoln, and Vonnie (Norman) Klassen of Bingham Lake, MN; aunt Virginia Johnson of Wakefield, NE; nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Gayle was preceded in death by his father Martin Schwenck; step-father Raymond Wiese; brother-in-law Jim Johnson; and niece Linda Johnson.
