Galen Francis Morgan, age 81, was called Home, to be with his Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, in Seward, NE. A Celebration of Life will be held, details pending.

Galen was born May 9th, 1945, to Oliver and Roena (Dunbar) Morgan, at home, in Sargent, NE. His formative years were spent, on the farm, in the middle of 13 children. Galen graduated from High School, in Ord, NE, in 1963. That same year, he married Shirley Mae Harvey and, at the time of his passing, they had shared 63 years.

Galen is survived by his wife, Shirley, son Dennis and wife Sandy, son David and wife Annette, daughter Michelle and husband Lars, grandchildren: Melissa and husband Ryan, Anthony and wife Hannah, Michael, Lucas and wife Harleigh, Liva and Liam and great-grandchildren: Zariah, Micah, Ryder and Sterling, siblings: Marlen, Arlene, Donna, Chester, Ruby, Glady and Melvin and a plethora of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Roena, grandson Brandon, siblings: Merrilyn, Viona, Neoma, Ryta and Charles.

One of the delights of Galen’s youth was a green two-tone ’57 Chevy. He put a lot of quick miles on that treasure, much to the chagrin of the County Sheriff. Galen enjoyed meeting people and travel, which served him well in his pursuit to provide for his family. Over the years, he used his natural talents in construction, factory work, as a ranch hand, sales and as a handyman.

One of Galen’s favorite places to find a solution to a problem was in his shop. He could picture how a thing should be and then he would build it. He preferred to be busy with his hands. His creativity was just one of the ways he would show people that he loved them, whether that be friend or family. Galen inherited his green thumb, from his mother. He could make just about anything grow, in his garden. When you see a moonflower, may you think of Galen. He shared his joy of gardening with others, especially with those that called him Mr. Galen. When there was a bountiful harvest, those around him were richly blessed. Following in his mother’s footsteps, Galen was able to make each person feel special. This gift was freely given to everyone that knew him.

No man is perfect and Galen was aware that he had his faults. There was one thing he was certain in and that was the Gospel, in which he believed. He shared the Gospel one last time the day before he went Home. May we all look forward to that promised reunion.

No services are scheduled. Memorials may be sent to the Family.
