Emin T. Eliason

Emin T. Eliason, Jr., age 90 years, of Wahoo, died December 11, 2016 in Wahoo. He was born May 18, 1926 at Swedeburg, NE to Emin Sr. and Esther (Swanson) Eliason. Emin attended grade school in Swedeburg and graduated from Wahoo High School in 1943. He earned a Bachelors Degree in three years from the University of Nebraska and taught English for many years at Huntley, NE and coached girls volleyball and basketball. Emin spent his summers working as a Park Ranger at Yellowstone National Park where he spoke about the earthquakes at the park. He spent many winters in his camper in Texas. Emin was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Swedeburg and was a lifelong fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Always a positive person, Emin honored a random woman on Mother's Day each year with a red rose. He enjoyed family get togethers, playing dominos and pitch. He looked forward to eating at Wendy's every Tuesday. Emin spent the last years of his life at Saunders Medical Center – LTC. He is survived by siblings Winniefred Keleher, Lincoln, Paul LeRoy Eliason, Lincoln, Betty Knuth, Lincoln, Robert "Robe" Eliason, Fremont; nieces and nephews Wayne Eliason, John Eliason, Bill Eliason, Marilee Hagerthy, Rich Eliason, Susie Knuth, Steve Knuth, Sandie Knuth, Scott Knuth, Lon Eliason and Robyn Meyers. Emin was preceded in death by his parents Emin Sr. and Esther; one infant brother; brothers Nels, Emin Theodore, and Donald; and niece Margie Keller. Memorials to Saunders County Hospice and Home Health, or Grace Lutheran Church.
