Elaine M. Pearson

Elaine M. Pearson, age 82 of Wahoo, formerly of Mead, died Thursday, November 13, 2014 in Lincoln. She was born July 30, 1932 at Swedeburg, NE to Benjamin Sr. and Emma (Bonow) Bergman. Elaine was baptized September 4, 1932 and confirmed August 12, 1945 at Zion Lutheran Church in Ithaca. She graduated from Mead High School May 12, 1949. On June 15, 1952, she was united in marriage to Robert Pearson at Zion Lutheran Church. They were longtime residents of Mead and she became a faithful member of Mead Covenant Church January 10, 1954. Elaine and Bob moved to Saunders House in Wahoo two years ago. Elaine worked as a lunch room cook at Mead Public Schools for many years. She also worked as an Optometric Assistant for Dr. Edmund Schneider in Wahoo, and at the Country Store in Mead, and enjoyed having coffee there with friends. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Pearson of Wahoo; daughter Glenda Russell of Grand Island; son and daughter-in-law Curtis and Donna Pearson of Mead; grandchildren Andrew Russell of Chester, Adam Russell of Omaha, Brian Pearson of Mead, and Lindsey Pearson of Kearney; great-granddaughters Erin Puhalla, JaeLynn Russell and Sophie Russell; sister Carol Simmons of San Diego CA; brother and sister-in-law Fred and Marilynne Bergman of Lincoln; sisters-in-law Jackie Bergman of Ithaca, Lois Taylor of Lynnwood WA, and Nancy (Dave) Perry of Omaha; brother-in-law Howard (Gladys) Pearson; Aunt Betty Jordan of Wahoo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; brother Ben Bergman, Jr.; niece Roxann Bergman; and great-nephew Shane Ostransky.
