Edward R. Morris

Edward R. Morris, age 89, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly of Fremont, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 27, 2025. He was born on September 13, 1935, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Konstanty and Mary (Wyborska) Morris. After graduating from high school in 1953, Edward enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving diligently at Lincoln Air Force Base as a jet engine flightline mechanic, where he was responsible for testing and installing jet engines. He had a passion for baseball and proudly served as the catcher on his team. On September 12, 1958, he married Lila Johnson, and together they resided in Lincoln, where Edward pursued his education at the National Business Institute, earning a degree in accounting. Lila preceded him in death in 2012. On September 15, 2016, Edward married Charlene Swanger. Ed held membership in American Legion Post #1 in Omaha. Ed is survived by his wife, Charlene Morris; his sister, Mary Ann Morris; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Richard, Robert, Walter, and William; and his sisters, Veronica and Delores. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home, followed by interment at Alma Lutheran Cemetery in Mead. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alma Lutheran Church.
