Edward L Callan

Edward L. Callan, age 89 of Wahoo, died Thursday, September 10, 2015 in Wahoo. He was born April 24, 1926 in Omaha to Charles and Rose (Haylock) Callan. On June 2, 1945, Ed married Elinor Ruth Petersen in Bennington, NE. The moved to Wahoo in 1959 where Ed operated the Mobil station. He went to work for the City of Wahoo in 1966 as a diesel mechanic in the Light Plant. Ed was an unassuming and hard-working man who, throughout his life, always held down more than one job. Besides being an enthusiastic toy and truck collector, Ed mastered the art of furniture refinishing and returned a beautiful luster to many worn pieces of hardwood furniture. He is survived by his children Deyo (Gaylord) Anderson of Wahoo, Devah (Steve) Windler of Vian OK, Steve (Lynae) Callan of Wahoo, Kevin (Theresa) Callan of Wahoo, and Lesley Drevo of Lincoln; grandchildren Heather Neilan, Christian (Carissa) Anderson, Joshua (Kristy) Anderson, Amanda Anderson, Shannan (Sean) Bond, Bethany (Chris) Werth, Noel (Colin) Lynch, Alex Callan, Evan Callan, Kristin Callan, Andrea (Derek) Kreitzer, Travis Callan, Jennifer (Anthony) Anderson, Lucas Drevo, Laura Drevo; and 27 great-grandchildren.
