ANNOUNCEMENT OF SERVICE DAY AND TIME

Dorothy Klink, age 93, loving mother of three, passed away peacefully the morning of December 11th 2024. On October 27th 1931, she arrived into the world on a crisp fall day to her new home on the Swanson family farm. As the second of five children, Dorothy had plenty of opportunities to be a caring and loving person and was always ready to freely give her time to others. Her confidence and love of learning shone from Wahoo High School through college, graduating from University of Nebraska in January 1971, and while teaching over 37 years at the country school, starting at age 18 and retiring in 1992. As a teacher, her quick wit and dedication created a positive and lasting impact through generations of local families. As a mother, her love was laced with calm wisdom and constant support, ever ready to cheer her children’s success. As a grandmother, her patient ear and caring advice had her involved and ready to hear about their lives, good or bad… sharing a hug or poke, as she deemed necessary. Involved in the community, she served as a President of Saunders County Teachers Association during her teaching tenure, participated in Christmas music specials at her church, and even recently received her 75-year pin as a member of Eastern Star.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Denise, Warren, and David; Grandchildren: Joshua, Christine, Paul, Jonathan, and Deanna; Leah, Caleb, Bethany, and Adam; Brandon and Shelby; as well as thirteen great-grandchildren. She also has two surviving siblings, Lawrence and Gloria, and many nieces and nephews that added to her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Laurence and Florence, and siblings, Bonnie and Roger.

Memorial services will be held at 11am, Saturday, March 1, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church. Inurnment will be at Bethel Cemetery.
