Service today at 3:00 pm Visitation 1-3 Alma Lutheran Church Doris Eloise Erickson was born on her family farm near Mead, NE, on October 9, 1923, to Henry and Lillie (Lind) Erickson. After high school Doris earned a teaching certificate from Luther College and taught primary and middle school in Ceresco, Valparaiso, and Fremont. She worked for two summers at the ordnance plant near Mead and for 17 years in Accounts Receivable at Boys Town. Her strong Christian faith led to her lifelong appreciation of the beauty of nature. She loved being outdoors where she could garden, enjoy her flowers, and read her bible. She took great pleasure in her family, family history, and reunions. She was a lifelong member of Alma Lutheran Church in Mead where she was active in bible studies and the Chat and Sew group, which made quilts for Lutheran World Relief. Doris is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Glen and Jo Ann Treptow of Ithaca; daughter and son-in-law Diann and Dr. James Fuxa of Cypress, TX; sister Genevieve Christensen of Fremont; brother and sister-in-law Morris and Jean Erickson of Mead; grandsons Alex (Honeca) Fuxa and Jason (Dr. Jessica) Fuxa of Houston, TX, and Mark Treptow and Don Treptow of Ithaca.
