Donald L Heiser

Donald L. Heiser, age 67, of Weston, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, in Omaha. He was born on August 19, 1958, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Vernon and Ruth (Anderson) Heiser. Don spent his early years on farms near Raymond and Wahoo before moving with his family into Wahoo at the age of nine. He graduated from Wahoo High School in 1977. After high school, Don began working at the Wahoo sale barn and continued to grow his lifelong interest in all things automotive through positions at Cerny’s, Marv’s, and later as a painter at Hellstar. In 1985, he began a long and dedicated career with Darling International.

Don was a loving family man, known for his hard work, unwavering dedication, and the deep love he had for his family. A man of many passions, he found joy in restoring antique tractors and classic cars, spending countless hours in his garage bringing these timeless machines back to life. His skill and attention to detail were only matched by his patience and enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge with others. Don also had a special connection with children, always making them feel valued with his kindness, humor, and gentle spirit. Whether as a father, grandfather, or mentor, he was a steady, caring presence in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of love, hard work, and the joy he found in life’s simple pleasures will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Don is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Dan Christian of Weston; grandchildren Alex, Taylor, and Barrett Christian; his mother, Ruth Heiser of Wahoo; siblings Carla Kraus of Wahoo, Dennis (Kim) Heiser of Weston, and Cathy (Ron) Snitily of Prague; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Roxane; his father, Vernon; and his brothers, Dwaine and Dwight.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Swedeburg.
