Diane K. Olcott, 79, of Meriden, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2026, in Wahoo, Nebraska. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Diane found joy in raising her family and in caring for the living things around her.
Diane was born January 30, 1947, in Beatrice, Nebraska, to Raymond and Alice (Rohe) Hasenohr. She attended Concordia High School in Seward, Nebraska, for two years before enrolling in Concordia College.
While working at the horse track in Lincoln, Nebraska, Diane met John Olcott. They were married March 2, 1969, in Fairview, Kansas, beginning a marriage that would span more than 57 years.
Raising her three daughters, Nicole, Heather, and Regina, brought Diane great happiness. She enjoyed sewing for them, putting her time and care into things made especially for her girls. Those lovingly made pieces were a personal expression of the affection she held for her family.
Diane also had a gift for caring for animals and plants. She enjoyed tending to them and helping them thrive. Whether she was sewing for her daughters or nurturing something that depended on her care, Diane found meaningful ways to share her loving nature.
Diane is survived by her husband, John Olcott of Meriden, Kansas; daughters, Nicole (Jason) Broaddus of Hoyt, Kansas, Heather Kirchmann of Wahoo, Nebraska, and Regina Olcott (Dave Dosenbach) of Dover, Arkansas; grandchildren, Tory Billings of Watertown, South Dakota, Colton Kirchmann of Ashland, Nebraska, and Rylee Kirchmann of Ashland, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry Hasenohr; and sister, Donna Hasenohr.
