Denise Christensen, age 61 of Schuyler, Nebraska, died Thursday, March 30,2023 in Tucson, Arizona. She was born December 7, 1961 in Wahoo, to Lyle and Velva (Hoffman) Christensen. She grew up on a farm just north of Wahoo, and attended South Center District 70 from kindergarten through eighth grade. She then attended and graduated from Wahoo High School. Following graduation, Denise attended Southeast Community College where she earned her Practical Nursing Diploma. Denise then began her career as an LPN at the Wahoo Care Center, where she worked for many years. She loved working with her patients and took great pride in caring for them and their needs.

Faith was an important part of Denise’s life, beginning at infancy. She began her walk of faith through the waters of Holy Baptism at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Bluffs on December 31, 1961. Her parents continued to guide and keep her in the faith, and made sure she attended Sunday School and confirmation classes. Denise confirmed her Christian faith through the rite of Confirmation on April 25, 1976 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wahoo. Denise was a long-time member of Our Redeemer, where she taught Sunday School for countless years and also served as secretary on the church board.

Later in life, Denise met Robert Williams of Schuyler and the two were united together on December 31, 2017 in Wahoo. Robert was the love of her life! Together they enjoyed spending time with family and friends and traveling to Arizona during the winter months.

Denise is survived by her husband Robert Williams of Schuyler and his son Bret; her sister Karla (Craig) Curran of Wahoo; her nephew and nieces Eric Curran of Rapid City, SD, Erin (Trev) Fiedler of Sturgis, SD, and Michaela Curran of Fremont; as well as her great niece and nephew Elsie and Isaiah Fiedler.
