Deloris R. Lindgren, age 87 of Malmo, died Tuesday, June 4, 2014 in Lincoln. She was born August 19, 1926 at Colon, NE to Edward and Olga (Anderson) Person. She attended District 88 and Malmo Public School and graduated from Malmo High School. She furthered her education by attending Luther College and Midland College. Deloris taught in the Saunders County rural schools for five years. On June 13, 1948 she was united in marriage to Warren D. Lindgren at Bethesda Covenant Church in Malmo. They made their home on a farm near Malmo and moved to Wahoo in 1993. To this union, four sons and one daughter were born: Warren Eugene, who passed away at seven months of age, Douglas Ray, Russell Dale, Norman Warren and Colleen Ruth. Deloris was baptized October 22, 1929 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wahoo and confirmed September 18, 1938 at Bethesda Covenant Church in Malmo. Deloris was a member of the Malmo Covenant Church and later transferred to Edensburg Lutheran. She was always active in the church, teaching Sunday School and serving as a member of the Lutheran Church Women's group. She was a member of the Malmo Matrons Extension Club, Malmo American Legion Auxiliary, Dodge County 8/40, and was a Life Member of the Saunders County Historical Society. Deloris did volunteer work at the Lincoln Veteran's Hospital and Saunders County Museum for many years. She is survived by her children Doug (Patti) Lindgren of Wahoo, Russell Lindgren of Wahoo, Norman (Suzanne) Lindgren of Malmo, Colleen (Mark) Yost of Lincoln; grandchildren Warren David Lindgren of Malmo, Whitney (Travis) Swartz of Fort Collins CO, Zachary Yost of Colorado Springs CO, Laramie Lindgren of Council Bluffs IA, Alyssa Lindgren of Wahoo, Cora Yost of Lincoln, Kristal Lindgren of Malmo, Danielle Lindgren of Malmo, Charles (Heather) Richardson of Bellevue; great-grandchildren June Swartz and Lucas and Liam Richardson. Deloris was preceded in death by her husband Warren, son Warren Eugene, and brother Eugene. Memorials to Edensburg Lutheran Church, Malmo American Legion Auxiliary, or Alzheimer's Association. Casket bearers will be Travis Swartz, Warren Lindgren, Zachary Yost, Laramie Lindgren, Mark Yost and Leon Vermeline. Rev. Andrew Dietzel, Pastor at Edensburg Lutheran Church, will officiate.
