Services for Cloyd will be Saturday. 2 pm, at the First United Methodist Church. Please join the family for a luncheon at the church Saturday at 1 pm. Cloyd D. Boydston was born March 1, 1928 in Ashland, NE to Henry and Gladys (McReynolds) Boydston. He graduated from Ashland High School in 1945 and married Arla Schoenleber on August 8, 1953 in Lincoln. Cloyd graduated from UNL in 1956. He served in the US Army during Korean Conflict and was later drafted into the Pennsylvania National Guard. As a member of this group, he served in Germany which afforded him the opportunity to travel to destinations such as Holland and Italy, and to ski in the Swiss Alps. Cloyd was a retired District Conservationist for Department of Agriculture. He worked in many locations throughout the state including Scottsbluff, Weeping Water, Walthill and Loup City. Cloyd oversaw the construction of water sheds, dams and terraces, and enjoyed Sunday afternoon drives with his family to show them the projects under his supervision. In 1978, he moved his family to Wahoo where he became active in both the County and the State Fair Grounds and the Lancaster Weed District. Cloyd was a frequent blood donor and had far surpassed the 10 Gallon Donor level with the Red Cross Bloodmobile. Family members include wife Arla; daughter Jacque Keller, Lincoln, son Doug, Milford, NE, son Rick (Leslie), Grandview WA, daughter Cheryl (John Mark) Hansen, Omaha; grandchildren J. Nathan (Amanda) Hansen, Omaha, Nicholas (Whitney) Boydston, Huntington Beach CA, Christine (Lewis) Kleiner, Roanoke VA, Andrew Boydston, Seattle WA; great-grandchildren Jane and J. David Hansen, Omaha, Samuel Kleiner, Roanoke VA; brother-in-law Kendall Dimmitt, Lincoln; sisters-in-law Ruth Boydston, Albuquerque NM, Orpha Leper, Albany OR. He was preceded in death by parents, brothers Lawrence and Francis Boydston, sisters Shirley Dimmit and Blythe Stickney; brother-in-law Clyde Stickney.
