Christi M Grabowski

Christi M. Grabowski, age 66, of Wahoo, Nebraska, passed away on January 4, 2026, at her home in Wahoo.

Christi was born on June 23, 1959, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Robert and Carlene (Willer) Davis. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from East High School in 1977, where she was active in band and played the clarinet.

Christi had a lifelong love of learning and books. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Master’s Degree in Library Science from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and dedicated her career to education. She began teaching in Hastings, Nebraska, and went on to serve students in Yutan and Wahoo. She was especially proud of her work as a school librarian in Wahoo. She retired from Lincoln Public Schools after many years of dedicated service and later continued serving students as a substitute teacher.

In 1983, Christi married Paul Grabowski. Though the marriage later ended in divorce, they welcomed two children, who Christi devoted herself to raising. She proudly served as her daughter’s Girl Scout Leader, creating lasting memories along the way. One of her greatest joys was seeing both her children achieve the highest scouting honors of Eagle Scout and Girl Scout Gold Award.

Christi took great joy in her role as an Oma, and delighted in sharing her love of reading with her grandchildren. She often took them to the library, movies, and art museums, and spent countless hours helping with their Open Class Projects for the Saunders County Fair each year

Faith and music were important parts of Christi’s life. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Wahoo, where she participated in the bell choir and valued the fellowship of her church community.

Christi was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Carlene Davis.

She is survived by her children Karen Grabowski of Columbus, Nebraska, and Tony (Stephanie) Grabowski of Wahoo; her beloved grandchildren, Benjamin, Charlotte, and Lily; siblings Carla (Brad) Maslonka of Prior Lake, Minnesota, and Jeff (Ronda) Davis of Sioux City, Iowa; sister-in-law Laurinda Finken “Sis”; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her cherished grand-dogs, Sophie, Leia, and Celtic.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home in Wahoo.

Funeral services will take place Monday, January 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Wahoo.

Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church of Wahoo or the Wahoo Public Library, honoring Christi’s faith, service, and lifelong love of books.
