Chris Ludi, age 28 of Berlin, Germany and formerly of Wahoo, died Thursday, August 9, 2018 in Wahoo after a courageous four month battle with sarcoma. He was born June 1, 1990 in Lincoln to Steven and Linda (Hartsook) Ludi. Chris grew up in Wahoo and graduated from Wahoo High School in 2009. Chris had a natural athletic ability which permitted him to be competitive in track and to set a couple school records. Chris met Pia Weis when she was an exchange student in Wahoo. They spent three years together in Wahoo while Chris attended Southeast Community College, and spent the last three years in Berlin, Germany where Chris enrolled in a German Language Academy and enjoyed taking in the European culture. From an early age, Chris enjoyed cooking. Living in Germany helped to expand his culinary palate as he and Pia traveled and enjoyed the cuisine throughout many European countries including Portugal, Croatia, Spain, France, and The Netherlands. Chris and Pia were married June 30, 2018 in Omaha. Chris had a creative mind and an entrepreneurial spirit. His innate sense of humor continually made people laugh. He was a fan of classical music, particularly the works of Debussy and Vivaldi. While growing up, Chris spent much of his time with his grandpa Harvey in Swedeburg. He is survived by his wife Pia Weis-Ludi of Berlin, Germany; mother Linda Ludi; sister Danielle (Bobby) Ficenec; grandmothers Stacia Hartsook, Addie Ludi, all of Wahoo; cousin Guy Bechtold of Lincoln; father-in-law Lutz Pugehl-Weis; mother-in-law Annette Weis; sister-in-law Lena Weis, all of Duisburg, Germany.
