Carl A. Johnson

Carl A. Johnson, Jr., age 84 of Colon, died October 27, 2014 in Fremont. He was born December 17, 1929 at Alliance, NE to Carl A. Johnson, Sr. and Ethyl M. (Cline) Johnson. Carl married Betty Cook on October 27, 1950. Carl passed away on their 64th wedding anniversary. Carl was a graduate of Chadron State College. He worked as a Metallurgical Engineer in Sandnes, Norway for Phillips Petroleum. Following his retirement, Carl and Betty returned to the family farm in Colon. Carl was a Master Mason and is a Past Master and lifetime member of Masonic Lodge #183 in Alliance, NE. He was an amateur Radio Operator, and avid reader, and a great skier. Carl will truly be missed. He is survived by his wife Betty of Colon; daughters Jacalyn (Wayne) Walker of Los Lunas, NM and Janie (Mike) Rogakis of Longmont, CO; 2 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Norma Heath; and daughter Judy Johnson (twin sister of Janie). No services are planned.
