Brad L. Kumpula, age 63 of rural Wahoo, NE, passed away Thursday October 28, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. He was born August 20, 1958, in Onida, SD, to Richard and Donna (Weakly) Kumpula. He graduated from Wahoo High School in 1976. After high school he worked helping farm for a neighbor to meat cutting to fine tune his crafting of the construction business. He worked many years for Fritz Construction, then onto Leininger Construction, Millard Lumber, and prior to his death he was with Cameron General Contractors, traveling the US as a site supervisor, which in his eyes was the best job he ever had where they treated him like family and took care of him the same. Brad was a man of character, Integrity, passion, and service. He loved spending time with his family, camping, karaoke, and there wasn’t a casino he didn’t like, well maybe after he lost, he didn’t like but he won a lot as well, it helped him pass time while out on the road away from home. Brad was with his last boss for 25 years wherever Chuck went (Leininger Construction, Millard Lumber and CGC). A quote from Chuck. “Brad learned this building of ours and had a passion for the kitchen and the core. He would jump in his truck and camper and go wherever I sent him. He had such loyalty for this company that one usually could wish for”. Chuck was not only his boss but was his mentor, and one of his best friends and confidants. “It was truly a pleasure to have known Brad, he will be sorely missed by many, although we are all devastated for his loss, we have to remember the good times…. life is too short and its not a goodbye it’s a see you later my friend”. We have all often said he was the glue of our family. He is survived by his two children, Chad Kumpula of Hibbing, MN, Brandy Kumpula of Omaha, NE granddaughters Talyn & Addie Kumpula of Lincoln, NE, 8 siblings Harry (Jolene), Duane (Kim), Mark (Karla) all of Lincoln, NE, Rex (Diane), Bruce (Deb), Susan Kumpula and Lisa (Terry) Weir all of Wahoo, NE, Janis (Forrest) DeHaven of Columbus, NE, as well as many beloved Nieces and Nephews. Brad was preceded in death by his parents Richard & Donna Kumpula and Nephew Richie Kumpula. From all of us that loved him, until we meet again. Good Day Sir!
