Bonnie F. Veach, age 96 of Wahoo, died Tuesday, May 3, 2022 in Wahoo. She was born October 12, 1925 in Harpster, OH to Gale and Ruth (Culver) Bridge. She grew up in Harpster and graduated from high school there in 1943. Afterward, Bonnie began working at National City Bank in Harpster while attending business school in Marion, OH. She met Gayle Veach in Virginia Beach, Virginia while he was serving in the US Army. They were married July 19, 1959 in Wyandot, OH. They moved, then, to Nebraska and settled in Wahoo in June of 1976. Bonnie worked for many years in Social Services at Saunders County Care Center until her retirement. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and kept herself busy with quilting and crossword puzzles. She was a devoted mother and care giver to her three sons and served as Den Leader for Boy Scout Troup #246. One of her favorite past times was to feed and watch the birds and squirrels in her backyard. For more than 25 years, Bonnie accumulated a vast collection of Department 56 Christmas Village pieces. Each Christmas it took two weeks to set up the collection which was wired so that a single switch illuminated the entire village. She is survived by her sons Jim (Valerie) Veach of Malmo, John Veach of Lincoln, William (Rita) Veach of Brainard; sister Mary K. Bower of Harpster, OH; special family friend Joni Wimmer of Wahoo; many nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Gayle Veach; sisters Dorothy Starner and Millie Frey; and “grandson” Tanner Hauck.
