Betty J. Hedlund

Betty J. Hedlund was born September 28, 1927 at Wahoo, Nebraska to Charles B. and Sylvia (Mares) Trutna. Betty graduated from Wahoo High School in 1944. On September 12, 1948 Betty was united in marriage to Harold E. Hedlund, D.V.M. at the Czech Presbyterian Church in rural Wahoo.

Betty was a lifelong Presbyterian and a present member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a Past President of the Auxiliary to the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association, Past Matron of Stella Chapter #57 Order of Eastern Star, Past President of Chapter I P.E.O Sisterhood and a member of Naphis Temple No. 66 Daughters of the Nile.

She is survived by children Barbara Hedlund, Janet (Dell) Shepherd, Cheryl Hedlund (John Mazoch), and Edwin (Linda) Hedlund; sister Marjorie McNare; grandsons Kyle (Kallie) Shepherd, Timothy (Amanda) Shepherd, Mathew (Caroline) Mazoch, Jakob Hedlund, and Lukas Hedlund; great-grandchildren Hunter, Isabel, Wyatt, Colter, and Ryelee Shepherd, Allison, Katherine, and Matthew Mazoch.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Harold; parents; brother James Trutna; sisters Marian Genoff, and Ethel Lopour.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, September 21at First Presbyterian Church. Interment will be at Sunrise North Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
