Berneice Ann (Olson) Hoestje (68) died Monday, August 15, 2016 at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln, Ne. Berneice was born on September 10, 1947 in Yankton, South Dakota. Her parents were E. Merton and Phyllis (Jenny) Olson. She was baptized on December 28, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington, NE. She graduated in 1965 from Hartington Public High School and attended Wayne State College for one year. She worked for a summer at Mount Rushmore, then moved to Norfolk, NE and worked at Dale Electronics. She married Richard Hoestje of Osmond on March 9, 1968 at Trinity Lutheran Church. They lived in Wayne, NE and had two daughters, Lisa and Brenda. In 1976, they moved to Wahoo where they resided until the present time. Berneice was a hard worker and she ran an in home daycare for seven years, then worked in the dietary department at Haven House, and lastly as a Ward Clerk for Saunders Medical Center. She was employed there for twenty-four years. She is survived by her husband Richard (Wahoo). Daughter Lisa Walla and family Wayne Walla with their daughters Shawna, Alyssa, and Nicki (Wahoo). Daughter Brenda (Cory) McIlnay and their five children Lauryn, Morgan, Olivia, Devin, and Trevor (Omaha). Her sister, Mary Kay Fetsch (Hartington), brothers and sisters-in-laws David (Trish) Olson of Victorville, CA and Gary (Dianne) Olson of Palm Bay, FL. Sister-in-law Lois Gerdes of McClean, NE; sister-in-law Linda Hewitt and her husband Jack of Pilger, NE; brothers-in-law and their wives James (Phyllis) Hoestje of Lenexa, KS and Wilfred (Sue) Hoestje of Beloit, KS. She has many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews who all meant so much to her. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law Gary Fetsch and Leonard Gerdes, and niece Cindy Fetsch. Memorials may be made to the building fund at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
