Arthur C. Mcglew

McGlew, Arthur C., Jr., age 86 of Wahoo, died July 5, 2012 in Wahoo. He was born January 5, 1926 in Tallahassee, FL to Arthur Sr. and Otis Lillian (Dempsey) McGlew. Arthur joined the US Navy in 1942 and, in 1954, transferred to the USAF. During his military service, his major work was maintaining airplane engines and later jet engines as well as doing flight line duties at several bases. These included South Weymouth Naval Air Station, Newfoundland Naval Base and Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, AK. He retired from the USAF in 1964 and completed another 20 years in civil service at Otis AFB in Bourne, MA. He retired in 1986. Arthur lived in Massachusetts for over 60 years with his family until he moved to Nebraska in 2008 to be near family. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ann Edith, Wahoo; children Susan (Ray) Rousseau, Ceresco, Cheryl (Paul) Hill, Wahoo, and Lori (Rob) French, Ceresco; grandchildren Chad Hill, Los Angeles, CA, Kathryn Hill, Brighton, MA, Sierra and Lauren Wagner, Ceresco; sisters Lillian Coffin, Jacksonville, FL; brother Thomas McGlew, MacClenny, FL; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, sister Alpha Rawls, brothers Jack, Samuel and Richard McGlew.
