Arnold A. Johnson

Arnold Allen Johnson was born December 17th, 1924 in Sargent, Nebraska to Roy and Elsie (Pearson) Johnson. The following are a few highlights of his 88 wonderful years: Arnold was a husband, father, grandfather, friend, farmer and outdoorsman of unparalleled quality. After marrying Arlette Anderson in 1946, they had five children who later gave them 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Generations of children sat on his lap, rode his horses, learned the finer points of hunting and fishing and, above all, loved him. He came from a time when neighbors relied on each other and was a valued member of the Edensburg Lutheran Church. He was a trusted member of the community, and gave guidance to all who asked. Arnold handled tragedy and triumph with grace for all of his 88 years. He was an example of kindness and instilled lessons of how to do what is right, not just what is easy. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Arlette and his twin sons, Ronald and Roger, as well as his brother, Gerald. He is survived by his children Daryl (Julie) Johnson of Wahoo, Shelli (Rod) Thorson of Wahoo, and Jerome Johnson of Colon, as well as daughters-in-law Georgia Johnson of Omaha and Sally Reed of Sarasota, FL. He is also survived by his sister Margie Fleischauer of Fountain, CO, and 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Serving as Casket Bearers are Dustin Johnson, Justin Johnson, Josh Johnson, Tim Laudenback, Tony Thorson and Jordan Thorson. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Katy Johnson, Chris Johnson, Jackie Johnson, Kelley Johnson Rodriquez, Mackenzie Maly, Jenna Johnson, Trevor Johnson, Jack Johnson, Hattie Johnson and Braedon Johnson. Memorials may be made to the family for a later designation.
