Biography
Eva L. Pearson, age 90 of Wahoo, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 in Lincoln.
She was born April 7, 1919 in Blair, NE to Grover and Hulda (Schaffer) Wilkins. Eva graduated from Kennard High School and Dana College in Blair. She then taught for 13 years at Arlington, Elkhorn, Desoto, and Masters Country School. On August 17, 1952 she married Norman A. Pearson at the Arlington, NE Methodist Church. The couple resided and farmed Southwest of Wahoo. Among her many responsibilities on the farm, Eva raised chickens and sold the eggs. She was an excellent cook and baked incredible pies and breads. Sewing, quilting, and other hand work occupied her spare time. Eva was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Swedeburg where she was active in the Ladies Aid, the Church Board, and taught Sunday School. Her community involvements included the Home Extension Club and Christian Women’s Club. Eva was a kind person who adored her grandchildren. She loved growing flowers and gardening.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman August Pearson, brothers Bill, Joe, and Jamie Wilkins, and sisters-in-law Marian and Eileen Wilkins.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Penny and Allen Henriksen of Norfolk, NE; son and daughter-in-law Kent and Laurie Pearson of Wahoo, NE; brothers Robert Wilkins of Fremont and Dr. Gene Wilkins of Ennis, MT; sister Ruth (Gene) Kruger, Elkhorn, NE; sisters-in-law Muriel Wilkins of Lincoln and Toby Wilkins of Ennis, MT; grandchildren Joel and Hayley Henriksen of Norfolk and Kendra and Katie Pearson of Wahoo.
